I’m Derek Franklin, owner and lead electrician. I grew up in Gretna, Virginia, and still call it home today. My career in the electrical field began after completing my training at VTI, where I found my passion for hands-on, skill-focused work. I then spent 13 years with Moore’s Electrical in Altavista, VA, gaining experience in residential, commercial, and troubleshooting projects of all kinds.

In 2021, I decided to take the next step and start Franklin Electrical. My goal from day one has been to provide dependable service with straightforward communication. I believe customers deserve clarity, honesty, and workmanship they can feel confident about.

What I enjoy most about this profession is the variety—every home, every customer, and every electrical issue is different. Finding the right solution and seeing a job come together is something I take real pride in.

Outside of work, I’m all about family time and getting out to explore new places with my beautiful wife, Tiffany, and our three kids, Walker, Jackson, and Aubrey. 

The values I hold at home—respect, patience, and doing things the right way—are the same ones I bring into my business.
